I'm not Who You Believe Me to be

How do I tell you it’s all been a lie? The person you believe me to be is not real. The face is of another woman. Those eyes that you want so badly to look into are not mine. The body you have come to desire, what I would love to look like but don't. How do I tell you the person you say you have fallen in love with is not real. How do I tell you not to let go of your life to be with me. I have given you a dream but none of it will ever be reality. Can I simply say ‘I’m sorry’? Will it make all that we have shared meaningless? We have talked about so much. We have planned so many things. We have shared so many dreams. But the time has come for me to tell you I’m not who you believe me to be. Do you look past that? Can you forgive me? What can I say? What do I do? I have wanted to tell you before in fact I have tried. How I wish I never did this. You are to come to another state, live another life, yet I am not who you believe me to be. I can't bring myself to tell you. To break your heart. To shatter your dreams. It is so selfish of me to hold on to you. But I can't bear to let you go. Is it so important that I don't look like that woman? Would you be able to fall in love with who I really am? It isn't fair but what can I do? How do I begin to tell you?
